How it works

Three simple steps that create a powerful daily habit.

1

You set the apps and times

In the parent settings area, you build a short sequence of apps your child should spend time in — a reading app, a calm-down app, an educational game. You set how many minutes each one requires. You choose what fits your child.

2

Your child spends time in each app

Before entertainment apps unlock, your child opens each chosen app and spends the time you set. The sequence is clear and visual on screen. No guessing, no negotiating — just a predictable path forward.

3

Screen time unlocks

Once the time is up in each chosen app, the entertainment apps they love open up. The reward is real, the routine is theirs, and over time the habit becomes second nature.

Built for brains that work differently

Every design decision in First Things Focus was made with neurodivergent kids in mind.

Visual, predictable structure

Kids with ADHD and autism thrive on knowing what comes next. First Things Focus shows the full sequence upfront — no surprises, no moving goalposts.

Parent-controlled apps and times

You know your child best. Choose which apps they spend time in — a reading app, a calm-down app, an educational tool — and set exactly how many minutes each one requires.

Gentle, not punitive

This isn't about taking things away. It's about building a bridge between what your child wants and what helps them thrive. The tone is warm and encouraging throughout.

Builds executive function

Completing a timed sequence before a reward is a core executive function skill. First Things Focus practices it every single day, in a context kids actually care about.

Secure parent PIN

Steps are locked behind a parent PIN so the routine stays consistent. Kids can't skip ahead — but they also don't feel punished. The structure is just part of how the day works.

Works with iOS Screen Time

First Things Focus integrates with iOS Screen Time to enforce app locks reliably. It works with the tools already built into your child's device.

For the families who've tried everything

If you've been through every reward chart, every timer app, every negotiation — you know how exhausting screen-time battles can be. First Things Focus isn't magic, but it is consistent. And for kids who need predictability, consistency is everything.

"The routine became theirs. That's the whole point."
